Our Ministries

Our ministries are an important and integral part of our church community. Whether you are a student, single or married there is a ministry designed for you. Please read about our ministries and consider becoming an active member of our community of faith.
"Kings Kids" and "Kids on the Move"

"Kings Kids" children's church is for kids Pre-K through 6 years of age. Each Sunday is filled with fun activities which include age appropriate Bible lessons. "Kings Kids" takes place during our 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.

"Kids on the Move" is for kids age 7-12 and meets every Sunday during the 10:30 a.m. worship service. KOTM is filled with lots of fun activities that children look forward to each week with a Bible based emphasis.


Refuge Student Ministries

Refuge Student Ministry is open to kids ages 12-18. The youth group meets each Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Kids begin meeting at Refuge at 6 p.m. to hang out or play games til service time. The live worship band will lead you into the presence of God before hearing a challenging message from the Lord.

Ladies Joy Fellowship

Ladies Joy Fellowship meets periodically throughout the year. A Newcomers Banquet is hosted each year to welcome and get to know new ladies who have become a part of Oak Grove Assembly. The fellowships are always fun and uplifting spiritually as the ladies in our church use this time to form friendships and prayer partners. Joy Fellowship is open to ladies of all ages in the church and throughout the community.

Men's Honor Bound Ministry

Men's Honor Bound group currently meets the first Saturday of each month for breakfast at 8 a.m. at Lena's Cafe in Monticello, AR. The group is open to men of all ages.

Missionettes

Missionettes is a girls club which meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30. Missionettes is an Assemblies of God program much like Girl Scouts. It is a nationwide program involving over 174,000 girls in more than 22,000 clubs. Missionettes clubs have been meeting for more than 40 years. The meetings are designed to develop girls into "well-rounded" Godly women. It is a place to gather with other girls who love God Oak Grove Assembly is excited to offer the opportunity to become a Missionette. We have 4 clubs within Missionettes. Each club is designed for a specific age group and has a colorful curriculum to encourage Bible reading, memorization of Scriptures and other Christian based fun and crafts. Every club room is a place where girls experience God's love and acceptance first hand, and there’s a place for every girl.

Royal Rangers

Royal Rangers is a boys club beginning at age 5 and meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. Royal Rangers is a worldwide ministry of the Assemblies of God and is designed to provide young boys with challenging activities while providing them with Christian instruction. A camping theme is at the heart of most activities, along with a merit award system whereby Royal Rangers must demonstrate specific knowledge and abilities. Royal Rangers ministry is an alternative to Scouting. The main purpose of Royal Rangers is to "REACH, TEACH and KEEP" boys for Jesus Christ.

Food Pantry

Oak Grove Assembly opens a Food Pantry on the last Wednesday of each month to help those who are in need. The Food Pantry is open to the public and is staffed by volunteers of the church.

Nursing Home Ministry

Each month, Pastor Spencer and several other volunteers visit 2 nursing homes in Monticello. The services include singing, visiting and sharing the love of God to those at the nursing homes. They meet on the 1st Thursday of the month at The Woods home and every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Monticello Healthcare.

Prison Ministry

Our Prison Ministry is led by Bro. Scotty Jones who has been leading Bible studies for many years in the Department of Corrections. Currently, our church has volunteers who go and minister on a regular basis at the Varner Unit in Grady, AR.

Sunshiners (over 55 senior adults)

Our Sunshiners group is for senior adults over the age of 55. The group meets once a month on the first Tuesday of the month for lunch and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall. Sunshiners have a great time with singing, special speakers and a wonderful meal.
