Our Staff Members
The staff at Oak Grove Assembly of God has spent many years devoted to the christian faith. Our staff enjoys sharing that faith and knowledge with others in our church community. Here are a few of Oak Grove Assembly of God's staff members: |
|
Mary Spencer (Music/Worship Ministry) Mary is the wife of Pastor Dr. Bobby Spencer and together they are worship leaders of Oak Grove Assembly of God. Both have a long history of musical talent beginning as teens in gospel groups that traveled the United States. She is a songwriter and has had numerous songs recorded by nationally known gospel artists since 1987. In the fall of 1988, her song, "I Remember the Day", was nominated as Song of the Year and Mary was nominated as "Songwriter of the Year." Both Pastor Spencer and Mary lead the worship services with a mix of both modern contemporary praise and worship songs as well as traditional songs of the Christian church. Congregational hymns are led by Bro. Barry Hall, a deacon and long time member of Oak Grove. The desire of the music and worship team of Oak Grove Assembly is to lead each person into a worshipful experience with our heavenly Father in preparation to hearing the Word of God preached with passion and power under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. |

John Newman (Youth Pastor) John Newman is the latest addition to our staff here at Oak Grove. He is 22 years old and is from the hometown of Benton, AR. John was saved at the age of 16 and felt the unction of God calling him to preach at the age of 17. John recently graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, TX with a degree in Church Ministries. He is a Licensed Minister with the Assemblies of God. John believes God has a purpose and a plan for his ministry at Oak Grove to disciple our youth to go out and win the world to Jesus. John's hobbies include the love of sports as well as being an avid Razorback fan through and through. Our REFUGE Student Ministries at Oak Grove is already experiencing great things under the leadership of Pastor John Newman. |
